The fourth wave of COVID-19, which hit Vietnam from April 30th to May 1st, has completely frozen the tourism industry.
However, since June, with the pandemic largely under control in many cities and provinces, local authorities in some localities have eased restrictions on services and outdoor activities in the tourism sector.

After more than a month with no new infections registered in the municipality, northern Quang Ninh Province has allowed selected types of business to resume from June 8, with the requirement to ensure pandemic prevention and control in the new normal.
Taking advantage of the golden age of summer tourism, Quang Ninh plans to combine community-based tourism with sea and island tourism and promote tourism to welcome visitors from outside the province when conditions permit.
After Quang Ninh, the northern port city of Hai Phong also allowed the reopening of tourist areas and attractions from June 13, but only for those who live and work in the area.
Tourist activity is gradually returning in the central cities and provinces as well.

With the pandemic still complicated, despite the reopening of some intra-provincial tourism activities, communities remain cautious and strictly enforce and monitor the Ministry of Health’s 5K regulations. In parallel to focusing on the use of the intra-provincial tourism market, the municipalities are also developing scenarios to welcome tourists from outside the province again when the pandemic is brought under control.
