Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is ready to unveil that updated Ertiga MPV and WagonR hatchback in March 2022. We saw test slides of both models, which revealed some design and functional details. Ahead of its launch, brochure scans of the new 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift have been leaked onto the internet.
According to the leaked document, the hatchback will be available in two-tone color schemes – Gallant Red with a black roof and ORVMs, and Magma Gray with a black roof and ORVMs.
The new WagonR will have a two-tone Gray Melange fabric along with a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio system with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Features such as a premium audio system with 4 speakers, automatic gear shifting and steering wheel mounted controls will also be new on board.
The 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift will also focus on safety. There will be over 12 security features including Hill Start Assist (standard), dual airbags (standard), rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, central locking, speed warning system, security alarm, fog lights, seat belt reminder with buzzer, seat belt pretensioners and force limiter, speed-sensitive automatic door lock and child-proof rear door lock.
Under the hood, the hatchback will have a 1.0-liter K10C petrol engine and a 1.2-liter K12N petrol engine (90 hp/113 Nm). Both engines will be available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The new Dualjet engine, boosted with idle start-stop technology, promises a fuel efficiency of 25.19 kmpl. The model range will receive a CNG version at a later date.
With improved safety quotient, more features and performance, the new Maruti WagonR facelift 2022 will see a price increase of around Rs 10,000-15,000. It is currently in the price range of Rs 5.18 lakh – Rs 6.58 lakh (ex showroom). The hatch will continue to take on the Tata Tiago and Hyundai Santro.
