Yara Shahidi and Natalie Portman star in Dior’s Forever Foundation campaign

The Forever Foundation from Dior Beauty is included for all skin types

Released today, the new Forever Foundation exudes sorority, diversity and community – things that the Parisian house aspires to are at the root of the brand. Dior Forever was reinvented from Dior’s first foundation in 2007 with high coverage, combining long-term wear with skin care from the outset so that women can feel comfortable. It combines the work of botanists and Peter Philips, the creative and image director of Dior Makeup. The former has inherited Mr. Christian Dior’s passion for flowers, the latter has color experience and makeup techniques.

“Forever is fifteen years of perfectionism, fifteen years of love for and from women, a companion that strengthens self-confidence in everyday life,” writes Dior Beauty in a statement.

Actresses Yara Shahidi and Natalie Portman are the face of the new generation of Forever’s campaign. Portman, an Oscar-winning actress, has been a Dior ambassador since 2011 when she was the face of Miss Dior. And black star Yara Shahidi is known to wear a lot of Dior. Who can forget her kelly green Dior dress at last year’s Emmy’s? This is Shahidi’s first campaign for the house as she was named Dior Global Brand Ambassador last week.

Realizing that women’s needs change and their desires evolve, Dior redesigned the foundation. This new reinvention in the Forever saga includes longer wear, more skin care, and a cleaner formula.

“15 years feel like an eternity and at the same time we could almost believe that it was yesterday. The new formula is at the heart of skin care and the floral aspect plays an essential role without compromising the original qualities. On the contrary, this new generation also offers even better performance, ”says Philips.

Part of the new transformation is an updated transmission-safe and lifetime-safe wear. The foundation is resistant to heat, moisture, stress and signs of fatigue. Passed tests that withstand 91 ° F and humidity. Dior Science has also worked to ensure the durability of makeup with the foundation’s structural actives for flexibility and transfer resistance. The new transfer-proof technology ensures a clearer complexion that is matt and lasts extremely long.

To be even more diverse, Philips and his team have developed forty-three calibrated shades so that every woman can find the right shade for her own skin tone. To get the methodology for 43 handcrafted shades, Dior worked with 110 women to portray the 110 different skin tones that science refers to. A larger study of 500 women was conducted which resulted in the foundation being perfected and showing women in their best light.

For Dior Beauty, this Forever Foundation is at the forefront of a larger movement for the brand, making sure it’s inclusive for men and women of all ages with all skin tones. Despite all the criticism of fashion, the industry is striving for profit from earlier times.
