Hanoi (VNA) – Travel companies in Vietnam have made plans to meet the increasing demand for visitors during the summer holidays.

Tran Quoc Bao, deputy general manager of Saigontourist, a leading tour operator, said he expects to serve more than 280,000 customers and the number could be higher due to demand for domestic and international travel tours still growing strongly.

“Summer is the peak season of the year, so we focus all financial and human resources on diversifying services and investing in the renovation of most of the products according to the current market situation,” he was quoted as saying by the Tuoi tre (Youth) newspaper.

Up to 160 package tourism products have been developed to meet market trends and meet the needs of resort tourism, Bao said.

According to Huynh Phan Phuong Hoang, deputy general manager of Vietravel, the number of tours has increased sharply, but the way Vietnamese tourists travel this year has also surprised the market.

Many families are willing to spend on top-notch tours and have stricter requirements for the quality of accommodation and food services, she said.

Hoang said that by the end of May, tours were booked in some destinations such as Phu Quoc, Da Lat or Sa Pa, where travelers can stay in 4-5 star hotels.
