I like Harry’s big toe and I can’t lie

On Tuesday, Better houses and gardens published a profile of Harry Styles and many, many photos, including one showing him in his pajamas and carrying a tray. If you’re a Harry superfan like me who’s obsessively looked at every picture, you’ve noticed one key detail: his big toe sticking out of a hole in his sock.

You might be wondering a few things, like why a toe picture matters and why someone as wealthy as Styles would wear a sock with a hole in it. Sure, it’s relatable. But upon reflection, the toe in question is important for a reason: His toe is painted a nail polish color from Pleasing, his beauty brand. The color Sprouting comes from the latest micro collection “Shroom Bloom” which was released in March.

I haven’t gotten my hands on a bottle of Harry Styles nail polish yet, but only because the lines at his pop-up stores were notoriously long and I couldn’t bring myself to wait. But now I’m ready… thanks to his big toe. In an era when there are no free feet, baring Style’s big toe (and just his big toe) feels like the perfect way to promote his beauty brand.

Styles and his beauty brand have been all the hype for the past year. In addition to the shade we now know as Sprouting, the collection included three other nail polish colors – Tender Bud, Vine Ripe, The Whole Dewniverse – as well as limited-edition apparel and two new skincare products.

Styles had a full year behind him: his 2021 tour, the release of Pleasing, headlining Coachella, announcing his new album, Harry’s house. That’s why his toe is so brilliant. Way to kill two birds with one toe.

The June issue of Better houses and gardens can be pre-ordered now and will be available on newsstands on May 13th.
