WATCH the amazing farewell as Littlehampton Town heads to Wembley
Thousands turned out in the city center to give the Golds a wonderful farewell as the coach left The Sportsfield and drove through crowded streets before making his way to London, where the team stayed overnight on the Saturday night before the big day.
There was singing, singing, torches of gold, flags – and even golden sunshine for the occasion. Check out some of the scenes in the embedded tweet below and more on the club’s Twitter feed.
It showed how much the team’s remarkable season and fantastic run to Wembley captured the imagination not only of their fans but of the whole town and even wider.
It seems the whole of Sussex is behind them and they’re ready to bring home the trophy – they even had some happy news from Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter.
We at sussexworld.co.uk and the Littlehampton Gazette wish them well, of course, and have full confidence that Mitch Hand, George Gaskin and the boys will get the job done on Sunday.
